The Essence of Giving: Maximising the Blessings of Ramadan with AAP Foundation UK

Updated: Apr 24, 2023

As-salamu alaykum, dear brothers and sisters,

As the final days of the blessed month of Ramadan approach, it is an opportune time to remember the significance of our duties as Muslims. Among these duties are the two essential forms of charity: Zakat and Fitrana. We, at AAP Foundation UK, are dedicated to providing you with a trustworthy and efficient platform to fulfill these obligations, ensuring that your contributions will reach those in need both locally and globally.

The holy month of Ramadan serves as a time for increased worship, self-reflection, and empathy towards the less fortunate. It is a time when we strive to become better Muslims and seek the pleasure of Allah (SWT). As narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Whoever draws near to Allah during Ramadan with a single characteristic from the characteristics of (voluntary) goodness, he is like whoever performs an obligatory act in other times." (Hadith 1768)

One way to draw near to Allah (SWT) during this blessed month is by fulfilling our obligations of Zakat and Fitrana. Zakat, the third pillar of Islam, is the act of giving a portion of one's wealth to those in need. Allah (SWT) mentions in the Holy Qur'an:

وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَارْكَعُوا مَعَ الرَّاكِعِينَ

"Establish prayer and give Zakat, and bow with those who bow [in worship and obedience]." (Qur'an, 2:43)

Fitrana, or Zakat al-Fitr, is an obligatory charity given to the poor and needy before the end of Ramadan, allowing them to enjoy the festivities of Eid al-Fitr. It is a demonstration of gratitude towards Allah (SWT) and an opportunity to purify our fasts.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "The fast remains suspended between Heaven and Earth until the Sadaqat al-Fitr has been paid." (Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 658)

By entrusting your Zakat and Fitrana to AAP Foundation UK, you can ensure that your contributions will be distributed to the most deserving recipients, both within the United Kingdom and across the world. We have a dedicated team of experts who meticulously verify each case, ensuring that your donations are utilized efficiently and transparently.

In these last days of Ramadan, let us join hands to make a difference in the lives of our less fortunate brothers and sisters. Remember the words of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) when he said, "The best charity is that given in Ramadan." (Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 663)

May Allah (SWT) accept our acts of worship, our fasts, and our charity during this blessed month. May He (SWT) continue to guide us on the path of righteousness and allow us to serve His creation with sincerity and compassion.
